turtle in a nutshell

It's been crazy this fall and I still feel like I'm falling. I'm anxious to get my feet on some solid ground but I'm thinking it's a ridiculous hope and one that only has a chance some months away.

As many have heard me moan we are house hunting.. and well I'm feeling overwhelmed, confused and just flat out scared to make a decision. I also have a lot of other things going on at the same time that I just can feel that proverbial wall building around me. I am a cancer after all so it's not hard to imagine one hiding behind the shell, fragile as it is.

I have little to no point but than to let everyone know I'm OK, really I am. I just am at that point where I'm stepping back and taking a good look at what I've got going on and decide what's important and needs attention and what's drama and needs to get booted. Somewhere in there I need to also take a look at a house which I can't decide if it needs attention or if it's just drama. Seriously, if you are going to sell a house list it for what you want. I'm so tired of the listings that are low to get people to come look at the house and then we make an offer significantly over asking and get turned down because someone else made an offer $15k over our offer... ooh and then the market forcasts say most houses are to drop another 3-4% in price over the next month so do we gamble to get a lower price but maybe not the house we love...

Ouch

I did a spin class yesterday and yesterday felt fine (aside from some tushy bruising because the seat was so hard) but today.. ouch. My back hurts.

Life has been crazy here since August and hasn't really let up. We are still house hunting which I hate doing. I'm still waiting for the back to school routine. Isn't that the great part of the fall? Getting back into a routine after the summer.

So today we put in two offers hoping one gets accepted. If you send some positive thoughts our way it'd be most appreciated.


A big "HI!!" to my father in law in China. You are very missed and have a little buddy that asks everyday where Pop Pop is.

The Bad News first...

August & September are always crazy months for me. Between back to school, Austin coming back from Florida (which requires getting him back into our lifestyle routines) and just a general chaos of appointments and getting things done before the school days start up I often feel overwhelmed.

This year was an exception, it was even more chaotic. We added house-hunting and moving Amanda back home to that mix. Then I added the kit club, teaching a class at GIS and a trip to Utah. All of these things are GOOD things, but still can make one feel like they aren't sure which way to run. Personally, I prefer digging holes and hiding as opposed to running but that didn't seem to work either ;)

The bad news is, Amanda has made a decision to return to Florida. She misses her friends too much. I think it's a horrible mistake and really wish she'd stay here long enough to take care of herself to the point she can be independent and successful in her own right. Alas, she is an adult and has to make these decisions. So thursday begins the endless worrying about how she's really doing in Florida and not knowing if she's taking care of herself like eating right, and all the other mom worries that these kids bring. So if you can send some positive vibes out into the world directed to her I would appreciate it.

The good news is, honestly I don't have good news. I thought maybe the hope there was good news would make reading the bad news not seem so bad. LOL
