#40 Have watched a Academy Award Best Picture nominated movie from each year
>> Jan 4, 2011
Another movie list; my wonderful friend Terri who also chose this as one of her 101 Things and wrote a list of all the movies nominated for Best Picture from the beginning until last years ceremony.
My rules for this particular "thing" is that it can be any move from that year that was nominated, does not have to be the winner. I also am giving myself the option to substitute the next closest year (or another category of award) if I can not locate a movie from that year's nominees. After all i'm not sure how many 1928 movies are out on DVD right now...
Now to keep this list from being excruciatingly long, I'm just listing the years that I haven't seen one of the movies. (I'll save the super long list of all the movies I have seen for when I complete this task) If you've seen any of these movies, I'd love some input!

LOVED A Room with a View, a wonderful book that made a great movie as well, but Children of a Lesser God is hard to pass up as well. 1986 was a good movie year.
Amadeus is FUN. Loved it.
1979 Apocolypse Now should have won. One of my hubbies faves. I've seen it a million times. Great lines. Gritty. Compelling. Not light.
1976. You MUST watch the original Rocky. It's a classic. The same with '72 Godfather. Just classic. LOVE the characters.
1951 Street Car Named Desire. LOVE. Just love. Emotion. Emotion. Emotion. And alcohol.
1942 The Magnificent Ambersoms was A GREAT book. All about the industrial revolution in America and how it changed a family. Haven't seen the movie, but loved the book
1941 Citizen Kane another classic that should have won the Oscar. Worth seeing.
Ok. There's my 2 cents :)
